Rex Nockengust and Gene Allen are co-artists at Beach Glass Bingo, a sea glass jewelry company they started in Hawaii in 2000. They live in San Diego with their rescued, Parson Russell Terrier, Jackie. As well as traveling the country doing fine art shows, Rex serves on the board of the International Seaglass Assoc.
Brit Hansen is a fine artist living and working in Northern Arizona. As a desert native, Brit is inspired by the harsh environment and can recognize its beauty. She uses this inspiration to create her unique hand-carved paintings. My process involves layering paint, 50–80 layers thick, over the course of weeks. I then carve paint away to reveal different color layers. I love this process of excavating my design in the layers of paint to create texture and depth that changes as the light crosses the carving.
