ArtSpectrum is produced by The Studio Door, a contemporary art gallery and working studio hub founded in 2014 and located in San Diego’s Hillcrest LGBTQ Cultural District. The gallery is recognized for its curated exhibitions, professional development initiatives, and creative engagement programs that connect artists, collectors, and business communities through both cultural and B2B partnerships. The Studio Door is an LGBTQ-owned business, nationally certified as an LGBT Business Enterprise through the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and an active partner within the San Diego Tourism Authority, San Diego Equality Business Association and Pride Point Network.

The exhibition is developed in collaboration with RD Riccoboni, a nationally recognized artist and longtime collaborator whose work and advocacy have contributed significantly to the visibility of LGBTQ+ artists. Together, the curatorial team prioritizes artistic rigor, thoughtful presentation, and sustained opportunities for artists to engage diverse audiences within established cultural spaces.

ArtSpectrum 2026

ArtSpectrum 2026 is a curated group exhibition produced by The Studio Door in collaboration with artist RD Riccoboni. The exhibition brings together LGBTQ contemporary artists working across painting, mixed media, photography, and sculpture. Participating artists include Miguel Camacho-Padilla · Trevor Copenhaver · Tommy Diethert · Don Grant · Brian Hicks · Carole Kuck · Martin Luera · RD Riccoboni · Danne Sadler · Patric Stillman · Stefan Talian · Tim Weedlun.

While the participating artists identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community, the exhibition does not impose a singular thematic narrative. Instead, ArtSpectrum presents each artist’s strongest and most current work, emphasizing individual voice, formal exploration and professional rigor.

This presentation marks the premiere of ArtSpectrum, envisioned as a traveling exhibition with rotating artists, expanding its reach to new audiences and venues in future iterations.

The result is a visually dynamic presentation that reflects the range of contemporary practice from abstraction to figuration, intimate scale to commanding presence. By foregrounding artistic excellence while acknowledging the shared community of the artists, ArtSpectrum affirms the importance of representation within established exhibition spaces without limiting creative scope.

Presented at Village Arts Outreach Gallery in Balboa Park, the exhibition situates these artists within a broader regional and national conversation about contemporary art.
