Pedro Orso

Hello and welcome, my name is Pedro Orso.

I often get asked what got me into Photography. I hope that I can give you a brief explanation.

Growing up in Tijuana in the 1960s and 1970s, my Cousin Mario was an avid photographer. I was always following him around and was amazed by his photos. When I turned 17, I got my first reflex camera. It was a used Pentax that my parents got me from Hector (he rented a space next to our house). Hector was a wedding photographer. Between him and my best friend Luis, a commercial photographer, I began learning how to use the analog, all-manual film camera. That was how I learned the basics of operating a manual camera and playing with the settings.

I left my photography hobby because I started College and eventually graduated as a Civil Engineer. I was very passionate about my career as a Civil Engineer.

In 1989, I got married, and in 1995 my first daughter Isabella was born. A few years later in 1999, my second daughter Sofia came into this world. So, between my daughters and career, there was no time for photography.

Fast-forward to 4 years ago, when I started my semi-retirement. Then I began pursuing my other big passion in life, traveling. So, I got myself a digital camera and started taking pictures again.
I have been very fortunate to have traveled extensively all over the world. The pictures represent some of the places I have been lucky to have visited and the experiences I enjoyed. Each trip has a story I wanted to document. Through the photos you see here today, I can share a few of my travels.

If you want to know the background story of any photo, please feel free to ask me so that I may share that experience with you.
