Michele Gorcey
A Bold and Expressive Artist. San Diego-based artist Michele Gorcey is renowned for her bold, abstract creations. Her dynamic brushstrokes and vibrant color palette infuse her work with a playful and expressive energy. Gorcey’s unique artistic style stems from her unrefined and spontaneous approach, allowing her creativity to flow freely.

As a self-taught “naive” artist without formal training but with the same passion as a trained artist, Gorcey has also forged a successful career as a licensed mental health therapist. Her artistic journey began with a series of paintings that inspired the popular greeting card line, eunoiacards, which means “well-thinking and beautiful mind.” In 2023, she debuted in several North County art galleries and was honored to have one of her images selected for the Oceanside Museum of Art’s holiday card.

Gorcey’s artistic process is a captivating blend of mediums and techniques. She employs acrylics, house paints, crayons, pastels, and even her fingers to create striking compositions on repurposed canvas and wood signs. As she explains, the art process for me is intuitive, unplanned, and begins with the urge to create.”

Steven Morris
Steven Morris is an award-winning American figurative abstract painter based in San Diego whose work bridges Abstract Expressionism, Primitivism, and Depth Psychology. Drawing inspiration from masters like Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, and Robert Motherwell, his paintings explore the primal and spiritual dimensions of the human condition, capturing the tensions and harmonies of our juxtaposing forces—part animal, part animated spirit.

Steven studied painting under Marc Rouzens, a protégé of Mark Rothko, and earned his MFA from Temple University, Tyler School of Art, where he deepened his connection to the lineage of Abstract Expressionism. He is also a post-graduate student in Jungian Depth Psychology, exploring creativity and the archetypal path of individuation based on C.G. Jung’s work.

Painting from his San Diego studio overlooking Lopez Canyon Preserve in San Diego, Steven creates art as an invitation to transformation—offering collectors and viewers a way to see anew and embrace the deeper meanings of imperfection, inspired by the Japanese concept of “wabi-sabi.” His work resides between the natural, intuitive, and spiritual worlds, guiding the viewer on a cathartic journey into their own intuitive self and a moving, felt experience of the world.
